4-CARRIER WEAVE

X4 is the casting specialist. The four-carrier construction throws fewer wind knots and delivers more accuracy and more distance on the cast, and the self-lubricating UHMWPE fibre runs smoother through the guides and casts further. The heavier strands still take punishment around reef, rock and timber. Available in 4lb and 6lb classes.

TASLINE FAQ

Why is Tasline uncoated?

Tasline is left uncoated to maintain a natural fibre feel, superior knot strength, and excellent abrasion resistance. Coatings can hide imperfections and eventually flake or peel — we prefer not to take that shortcut.

Why does Tasline test higher than the stated breaking strain?

Like most quality braids, Tasline is designed with a safety margin. The stated rating allows for real-world factors such as knot strength and shock loads, while the actual average break is significantly higher.

Can I check the test results for my specific spool?

Yes. Every spool is individually tested and marked with a unique ID number on the back. You can enter that number on our Test Results page to view the actual breaking strain and test data.

Why does Tasline Elite fit more line on my reel than other braids?

This is where Tasline Elite really shines. Not only is this braid incredibly thin for it’s breaking strain but due to not relying on coatings it’s also supple and smooth. This enables Tasline Elite to pack on the reel better and “fill the gaps”. A stiffer braid will leave significantly more voids when packed on a reel and this should not be underestimated. It’s for this reason many Tasline customers are amazed how much more line they will fit on their reels.

We often get asked how much line will fit on your reel and we have not come up with a foolproof system to answer that question but here is some help. We have a spreadsheet prepared with data supplied by customers and will add more reels and lines over time:

Tasline was originally developed in New Zealand and is now manufactured in Melbourne, Australia, using high-grade UHMWPE fibres and precision braiding equipment.
