Tasline X8 Solid Elite Braid

Tasline X8 Solid is our eight-carrier, 8-strand braided fishing line, manufactured in small batches and finished with our proprietary post-braiding process. The result is a smooth, supple and exceptionally thin fishing braid that delivers high breaking strains without unnecessary bulk.

A smaller diameter means more line capacity on your reel and greater reserves when a trophy fish makes a long run. Made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre, Tasline X8 Solid is naturally self-lubricating, helping the braid run quietly through your guides while delivering smooth, long-distance casting performance.

8-Strand Braided Fishing Line Engineered for Distance, Sensitivity and Strength

Tasline X8 Solid is engineered for long casting distance, consistent line lay and high sensitivity across a wide range of fishing applications. Its smooth, supple construction makes it well suited to deep-water jigging, baitcaster applications and general lure fishing. In heavier line classes, its exceptionally quiet passage through the water and over rod guides makes it particularly effective when casting and working large topwater lures.

Tasline Elite White uses an 8-strand construction with no coatings or additives, producing a smooth, supple braid designed for consistent casting performance. The braid is finished using a proprietary post-braiding process developed by Tasline to refine its diameter, handling and overall performance.

Tasline X8 Solid is manufactured in Australia and tested in small batches, with every spool individually tested for strength and consistency. This controlled manufacturing process allows us to maintain tight specifications across the range, from lighter line classes through to the heavy braid used for offshore fishing, popping and jigging for trophy fish.

What leader should I run with X8?

Fluorocarbon for lure work, mono for topwater. Read more about leader selection. The FG knot carries close to full braid strength on the uncoated weave.

Will the color fade?

All braids shift colour with use. Because Tasline is uncoated there's no dressing to wear off. Any change is cosmetic and doesn't affect strength.

Why is the actual breaking strain higher than the rated class?

Understating braid has been common since braid came onto the market. Tasline publishes the real figures. For example, a 16lb class averages 24.5lb on test. That lets capable anglers choose to downgrade the class for more capacity, or go up for insurance against bust-offs.
